Hopton and Coton Parish Council

Welcome to the Hopton and Coton Parish Council web site – proud to be serving the community of Hopton in Staffordshire.

The parish includes the village of Hopton three miles north-east of Stafford together with two new estates, surrounding farms, agricultural holdings and mobile home sites.

It also includes the Beaconside Campus of the University of Staffordshire, The Weston Road Police Complex, Weston Road High School, the Fire Station, the Staffordshire County Showground, the Staffs Technology Park, Beacon Business Park and Beacon Barracks.

We have a registered battleground in our parish – it is where the Battle of Hopton Heath took place. Hopton is a beautiful village but the population is facing a period of change in the form of HS2 and the building of many houses. The precept for Band D properties in 2019/2020 was £40.60 and the precept for 2020/2021 for Band D properties will be £41.61.

We are grateful to Mr Tim Buss and Mrs Janet Stubbs for supplying our lovely pictures.

This is your chance to have a say on the future of Hopton Village Hall.
