Help for the unemployed

We Need Your Help!

A multi-million pound project across Stafford and South Staffordshire is helping people with multiple barriers to work get closer to finding employment.

The Building Better Opportunities programme is looking for people who are living in your parish and are currently unemployed and have barriers to them becoming employed.

The project, which is funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund, is able to help people with basic maths and English, volunteering, work placements and confidence building among many others.

We are also keenly aware that people’s personal financial situation can have a huge impact on employment prospects and participants will also be able to access help around benefits, debt management and housing support.

Many of the people that will be best served by the Building Better Opportunities programme are hard to reach and we are relying on those closest to their communities to spread the word – and that's why we are contacting you!

As parish councillors you are among the best placed to guide people towards the help that is on offer.
